About Scambot

Don't tell this man you've never heard of Zappa. He's known to get a little disgruntled.

Here at Scambot, I believe that everyone has an opinion and is entitled to express it. Unless it differs to mine, at which point all bets are off. Feel free to send me suggestions or articles for the blog, just make sure you have a modicum of taste music-wise. It would also be helpful if you can read and write.

I’ll cover virtually anything, as long as it’s got some musical integrity. From that you can safely assume that I’m way more likely to give a bit of exposure to a cult act, than I am a shiny, polished, chart act. This is mainly down to the fact I’m an elitist music snob, and I like what I like. Hard rock, 50’s jazz, instrumental guitar shredders, scandinavian punk, and some truly wonderful weirdness from all things Zappa and beyond. Oh and don’t be surprised if you stumble across guitar-based stuff or the occasional rant on here. It’s what I do.

Enjoy, and don’t forget to leave me your thoughts on everything I do. There’s nothing better than an argument about music. It’s what makes the world go round, ya’ know!

A little note on the origins of the Scambot blog: Some of you may or not be aware of where I got the name for the blog from. “SCAMBOT 1” is a 2009 album by Mike Keneally, which you should all definitely check out if you haven’t already. Anyway I thought it sounded perfect for the name of the blog, so I contacted him and asked if I could use it. Being a top class guy, he agreed to let me use the name but it should be noted that this blog isn’t, in any way, affiliated with Mike Keneally or his Scambot project, which is ever evolving (Scambot 2 is well underway by all accounts). All opinions are my own, and that’s down to the fact that, where music taste is concerned, I very rarely listen to anyone else’s. Cheers.
